Are Your Actions Creating Results? Are Your Inactions Creating Results? ___Your Practice and Your Business___ Could it be you?? I’ve coached from this model of perception and outcome for decades. It is a two way cybernetic loop…. Your results are a product of your actions Your actions are dictated by your emotional state Your emotional state hinges on your beliefs and perceptions Positive results come from appropriate actions. Appropriate actions are often promulgated by positive emotions and these are caused by beliefs and perceptions you have about yourself that are true. Conversely, negative results come from inappropriate actions which are often promulgated by negative emotions. Negative emotional states are likely based on beliefs and perceptions you have about yourself that are simply not true. Therefore, while most coaching focuses on action and inaction and may even delve into your emotional states, the seed for real change exists in one’s self percception. If you can find the lie(s) you have believed to be true and replace them with truth, the emotions change, the actions change and the results change. Here are 2 of the many reasons why: #1 is the most basic and it boils down to this….Based on your fees, if you were your patient and based on what you would recommend to you for care, could you afford to say yes to you? Given that no one is likely to have more value on your care than you; if you couldn’t/wouldn’t say yes to you then you will unconsciously go into agreement with everyone else that says no to you. Find a fee you would pay and then,at least, you’ll be congruent. #2 is pure business. Take what you bring in in a month and subtract your overhead for the month. This is your NET PROFIT for the month. Now, divide that by the number of adjustments you gave during the month and you’ll know your PROFIT PER VISIT. Once known, you know the pricing structure that will ensure your financial sustainability. Watch: In practice, the value and importance of expecting and explaining to the patient your expectation of them scheduling multiple appointments in advance is that you are reserving the best time for the patient for them for as many visits in advance that they can predict or are comfortable with. Chances are they settle into a particular routine of appointments anyway so why burden your front desk with another transaction each visit? In business, set aside a schedule of specific time slots for major tasks and activities. Now, you control your time and avoid trying to fit everything into your day. This makes you more time efficient and productive. First, identify the actions that will have the most significant impact on your business. These are often strategic activities such as planning. Next, determine how often and for how long each recurring appointment should be and then schedule it. ie-I scheduled regular time each week to review finances, marketing, staff performance and more.
